Week 2 In Review

Here is the Reader's Digest version of what my second week in Sydney looked like.

Friday: April 26th

An amazing day in the heart of Sydney, look out for a separate post on this fun-filled day.

Saturday, April 27th - Thursday May 2nd

(the individual days have started to blur together, so this is a total summary)

-I discovered Harris Farms grocery store just up the street.  It's not a full-size store but they do have a great produce selection, and you can't beat the fact that it's only two blocks away.

-I successfully completed my first load of laundry with an AUS washer and dryer without Chris or Eliane around to help me figure out what all of the symbols mean.

-I was finally able to Skype most of the members of my family.  My nephew was especially excited to show me the puzzle he was working on.

-I revamped my resume and applied for several more jobs.  Please continue to pray about this as I still have not heard anything back from any of the companies.  I would love to have some interviews soon.

-We had a delicious BBQ dinner at Rob & Lindsay so the lead team could meet and bon.  Duncan and Kate were visiting from Raleigh.  It was so nice to see them, a little piece of home.

-Chris and I went to Bunnings (like Home Depot or Lowes) so we could buy supplies to build a projector screen for Sunday morning.  With his combined construction knowledge and my inherited engineering perspective we were able to come up with a system that was secure, yet easily removable at the end of service.

-Sunday was Catch The Fire Sydney's Pre-launch service.  It was a long day since I was there from the beginning of set up to the end of tear down.  It was an amazing service!  God's presence really showed up powerfully during worship and several people were physically healed.  Dan and Robyn really expressed their hearts for this church and their excitement for what is to come.

-I had brunch with Nina at her apartment.  There was a pair of colorful Lorikeets that we were hand-feeding grapes and bread crumbs to.
